life's been mundanely madness since i last updated. what with trying to get the assignments done well and on time. and then there's super duper last minute cleaning up of the house. mother and i were still baking away in the kitchen with one last type of cookie (kuih) on the second night of Raya. actually it was more of me. all she had to do was mix the batter and the rest was my job. but thennn.. after i got to know somebody decided to paint her room a few days after Raya, my kitchen "adventure" doesnt seem so bad after all.

Hari Raya itself was same old, same old. this year turned out to be a whole lot more of entertaining guests at home rather than visiting. my parents are probably a lot older than i realise. so old, relatives are placing more importance to visit this (humble) purple home of ours. cheh. so anyways..the only day and the only house i was pretty much looking forward to was the 1st day of Hari Raya at Nenek's place, of course. Nenek-Yishun (maternal) eh by the way. everyone were surprisingly clad in either gold or black! ;) cute. we came in greeted by a 2-going-on-20 toddler of malay-english breed wrapped in a cloud of gold aka Aa'isyah Ameera bte Syafiq. when i say wrapped, i mean wrapped. she looked like a solid burst of sunshine in the form of a golden ketupat. besides that, there's of course the usual people, missing a few here and there because of work and what not.. and thennn there's the FOOD. no need for description hokay. whatever you feel like.. it's on the table. and Nenek Gaya will not let anyone leave the house if you havent stuffed your face enough. after food, the usual rounds of asking for forgiveness + the $$$ in between. this part, got me down a notch. earlier this year, i thought things would be a teeny bit different when it came to the grandparents. yet, i still found myself on the receiving end of the green packet exchange. endless prayers to God they'll still be around when i have the means to give back to them what they deserve. insyallah. perhaps next year, Nenek & Datuk will find themselves doing their rounds of visiting, transported by Nurul's Trajet. wuahaha. back to reality, that pretty much sums up the whole month's worth of fun. haha. story of my life.

sorry, no pictures. we're not exaclty camera/picture-people. i'll try to squeeze some out of the auntiessss' mobile phones and post it up on the next entry. that is, IF they have them.

night!!!
